information
Self-walking toys (contemporary ramp walkers) are presented to you by www.selfwalkingtoys.com , the only toys of its kind in the entire world. All our toys can easily walk when placed on any smooth surface having a slight inclination and given a gentle sideways push.
After you push it gently on the side (not on the back!!!), they toy will start wobbling left and right and then walking downhill towards the end of the surface. There’s no need to use batteries or any type of winding up since only the natural force of gravity is used.
To make our toys walk you would need to prepare an appropriate surface with an angle of about two to four degrees such as wooden board, piece of glass or any table with uncovered smooth surface. If you’re going to use your table we would advise for you to put one or two magazines or a newspaper underneath one of the legs to make for an appropriate angle. The same is true with a board or piece of glass.
As long as you have an incline and as long as the toy is shaking left and right, it creates an immediate momentum for the toy to pick up. The toy starts moving forward or backward driven by its own weight picking up momentum.
The history of self-walking toys goes back in to the 1920-s when the first so-called ramp walkers were designed. However most of ramp-walkers made in the 1950-s – 60-s were pretty small by their sizes. Some of them could walk only on three points of support.
Our toys are pretty big compared to the old ones. Each of them has the approximate 4’’by 7’’dimensions. All of our toys can easily walk on only two legs (two points of support)
The current toys line include five different characters: Bear (Winnie-the-Pooh), Soldier (Red Army Civil War soldier), Santa red and blue (Father Frost), Hippo blue and Hippo yellow.
All toys are beautifully hand painted. We use only led free good quality paints safe for children.
All toys are made of molded plastic in St.Petersburg, Russia.
Toys shipped from Illinois, USA
